Is Psilocybin A Fit For You?
-
Look at our FAQs section below and contact us to schedule a discovery call if you feel you meet the criteria.
-
A detailed intake form regarding mental and physical health must be completed we will review medications, health history and mental health history to determine if psilocybin is a fit.
-
Facilitator bios can be found on the website, this includes Facilitator areas of focus. See the suggested questions to ask when finding a facilitator in the FAQs section below.
2
Preparation
-
These are two documents that you legally need to have an understanding of and sign off on. These will be covered by your Facilitator and any questions will be answered before signing off.
-
These meetings are intended to address any questions, concerns, fears or hopes and to set expectations, and discuss navigation tools for the dosing session(s). This is a great time to discuss intentions and the importance of self care. We will also discuss a safety plan, transportation plan, consent for touch, and your resources for integration.
-
This meeting is an opportunity to meet the entire group and all facilitators in attendance, it is an additional step needed for group work.
3
Dosing Session And Integration
-
This will take place at the Service Center in a room of your choice. The dose and strain will be determined with your Facilitator. Sessions last between two and six hours depending on the dose.
-
You will meet soon after your session with your facilitator to share anything from the experience and discuss strategies for ongoing integration. Most facilitators offer multiple integration meetings with their facilitation. Integration meetings are optional but must be offered with this service.
-
There will be a follow up meeting in person or via Zoom usually a week to two weeks after the dosing session. Referrals and resources will be shared as needed or requested. Gather does offer ongoing group integration zoom and in-person meetings.
FAQs
What is the first step to decide if this is right for me?
Psilocybin is not for everyone. There are conditions that may disqualify you as a candidate for psilocybin services and so it’s in the best interest of the client to honestly answer all safety protocol questions. The following mental health conditions may disqualify you: schizophrenia, psychotic disorder, bipolar disorder, mania, delusional disorder, dissociative disorder, and severe paranoia. Some physiological issues that may make this treatment unsafe are: cardiovascular conditions, kidney disease, neurological conditions such as dementia, seizure disorders, epilepsy, stroke, aneurysm, and pregnancy. Please contact us and we will set up a free discovery call to answer any questions, review the process and help determine if psilocybin is right for you.
Why choose Gather?
We offer the resources of Dr. Leslie Drapiza, a doctor with 10+ years experience in primary care and Carol Markovics Ph.D., a psychologist with 50+ years of experience in practice as resources to facilitators as they navigate the specific needs of each individual client. We also have extremely affordable room rentals keeping the total cost down and great parking.
What doses do you offer or recommend?
We have several strains of psilocybin and your dose will be carefully considered with your facilitator based on prior history, sensitivity and any medications you are currently taking.
How is the price determined?
Each facilitator determines their own pricing based on training and experience. Individual sessions can be between $695 (low dose) and $2395 (higher doses). For individual sessions you are looking at between 6 and 12 hours of total time with a facilitator for preparation, paperwork, dosing and integration. Group sessions start at $895. Low dose sessions and low dose group events (5mg) start at $250. We can also tailor an event to an existing group. The psilocybin is a separate fee and is $6 per mg.
The prices make this inaccessible to me due to financial hardship or income restraints.
As the scope of practice includes preparation and integration conversations along with a dosing session this is a minimum of 10 hours of time with a licensed facilitator and in most cases more. Unfortunately the cost of this work is driven up by the exorbitant cost of licensing. However, we do partner with facilitators to offer sliding scale pricing up to a 50% reduction in total cost for clients who qualify.
What are some good questions to ask facilitators when I am trying to decide who I want to work with?
How much experience do you personally have with taking psychedelics and with being in altered states of consciousness?
How many clients have you facilitated for in the legal Oregon Model?
Who are your mentors or do you have a peer supervision group?
What training and experience do you have outside of the facilitator training required for licensure?
What frameworks inform your perspective?
Since the legal framework is currently “non-directive” can you give some examples of how you are able to help clients stay grounded in a “non-directive” way?
What strains have you tried that Gather currently sells?
Why is this work meaningful to you?
What if I need more integration support beyond the facilitation service?
Integration can be the most meaningful part of the experience if you stick with it. Gather offers on-going affordable psychedelic integration group meetings on zoom and in-person. Please contact us if you are interested.
What is the consent for touch agreement?
This is required by OHA rules. You will discuss, prior to the dosing session, if you consent to touch which is limited to hugs, feet, shoulders and hands. Your decision will be documented and honored during your dosing session.
What is the transportation plan?
You may not operate a motor vehicle or bicycle after the dosing session. The transportation plan ensured that there is an adequate plan for your transportation to and from the center on your dosing day.
